A Few Of Our Favorite Things

I am experimenting with Affiliate Links, which — if they work — would provide a nominal commission from any purchases made via these links. 100% of any commission (in the event that this is real) will underwrite the exorbitant cost of the cat food we feed from our Kitty Soup Kitchen for Wayward Cats.

Pest Be-Gone

Capstar (have you been to a show with someone whose dogs have fleas? Capstar for everyone! It kills only adults, and only for 24 hours).

Look, go to your vet for your rx monthly preventative. But also, you should know it is all OTC in Australia. The Pets MegaStore website needs a copy-edit, I’ll grant you that, but they have sent me what I have ordered. This link is not an affiliate link & I benefit in no way whatsoever if you decide to save 75%+ on your monthly preventative meds. I’m just saying: I got Ivermectin TABLETS for $1 each. We don’t even HAVE Ivermectin tablets in the US.

Treats & Other Fun Stuff

My dogs think this stuff is CRACK. They call it “Green Treats.” It’s a bit spendy, but they will WORK for it. It is easy to carry & isn’t too slimy or weird to store in your bra in a pinch.

Dream Bones are CRAZILY expensive at Wal-Mart (a bag of 40 = $22!), but via Amazon or Chewy they are a bag of 50 for just over $12!

Lamb’s Ears and Beef Cheek Strips come from Debby of 321 Dog Show. You can order via their website, call (321- 704-3587), or send Debby a message (dgapsch@cfl.rr.com, or 321dogshowcorp@gmail.com) & she will ship them to you. Mention that you have an Augusta puppy, and she will know just who you are!

Grooming Tools

I like this nail grinder better than my Dremel. I am very surprised, but I REALLY like it. It has a light on it which really helps. Update: The battery won’t hold a charge after a month of use — I will update if I find a tool that is better than my Dremel.

This is a good paw-pad trimmer.

These are the BEST dog toothbrushes I have found. If you prefer the finger-hat style, these work nicely.

We use PetSmile paste in Say Cheese, Rotisserie Chicken, and London Broil. Our dogs seem to like all flavors equally.

This is a great brush (but any similar brush will do).

Bedding & Clean Up

We use these absorbent, washable pads for house training.

These exercise pen panels are a less-expensive version (about $40 less) of the FXW brand — and work equally well (though they are not as heavy a gauge).

KOE stands for Kennel Odor Eliminator, and I use 4 cc (a tiny splash) in a bucket of mop water and about the same amount in a half-gallon garden sprayer, and I use it on EVERYTHING, inside & out. It is plant-safe, pet-safe, and people-safe.
