Hello, friends! I’m Kat & I have two miniature longhaired dachshunds! That’s it!
My dog show early days are recounted here.
I am an easy traveler as long as I have had coffee (black) and I am happy to pack the things to make it myself.
My partner and I often travel to dog shows together, but some semesters he teaches on campus 3 days a week which means I have to go by myself. I would describe myself as “extremely unpretentious” and I am completely happy with a Motel 6. In fact, my hubby and I have made a bit of a point to visit as many Motel 6 properties as we can (because they just don’t hassle us about the dogs).
I have stuffed too many dogs in a room when staying with friends, but I can get very stressed about getting caught.
I have a tiny Boler camper that I sometimes take to shows and, in a pinch, a second *extremely unpretentious* person with only one or two very small dogs would fit — but there is no toilet, so it’s really just tent camping with access to electricity.

I have an add-a-room that really helps bring the kitchen appliances outside, but there is nowhere to hang show clothes, so that’s a challenge I am working to solve!
Here’s the quirky & eccentric about me:
I do not snore, but don’t mind if you do.
I have my own vehicle, but it isn’t big enough to pick up you or your dogs unless they are very small and I leave my trolley at home.
I am a picky eater and often bring my own food from home — always for breakfast and lunch and sometimes for supper. I would be happy to eat out, but I’m not a fan of seafood or pork.
I am VERY, VERY politically liberal, but would VERY happily say nothing that would indicate this to anyone. I am VERY, VERY open to anyone else’s quirks and eccentricities.
I’m a Scorpio.
I’m a Cool Mom & have successfully raised adult children who are respectful, responsible, and fun to be around.

I currently reside in Valdosta, Georgia and tend to patronize shows up and down I-75 (Tampa is about as far south as I want to go unless you are driving). I do want to get a bit further afield northward, so could be coaxed into a Raleigh or Doswell adventure — I have flexible work and can be away as long as necessary.
